King’s Bounty: The Legend is set in a fantasy world with colorful graphics and a fairytale like quality. It features realtime exploration of the world map and turn-based tactical battles.

It was based on a classic game of the same name that was also the foundation of the Heroes of Might and Magic Series. King’s Bounty: The Legend is very similar to games in the Heroes series.

The Good:
King’s Bounty: The Legend is an obvious choice for fans of the Heroes of Might and Magic (HoMM) series but it has pleased many other gamers as well. Critics praise it for it’s high quality battle system and variety of strategic options and spell or combat trees. King’s Bounty has also been praised for accessibility to new gamers but depth for experienced gamers. It is cited as being a dynamic game with a lot of content and gameplay hours and a return to the roots of the HoMM series.

The Bad:
Critics have panned King’s Bounty: The Legend for being too close to the HoMM series. It also has some flaws with unbalanced difficulty that can lead the players into impossible battles. The story and translation into English can be quirky and the engine and graphics are a little dated.

Our Summary:
King’s Bounty is a game that doesn’t offer any mindblowing innovation. That being said, it is a solid tactical RPG with fun graphics and easy entry into the fantasy world. The story, while quirky at times, and the addition of some things like a wife that gives you special abilities makes it fun. This is a great casual game for anyone and would especially be worth checking out for fans of the HoMM series.
